This is the team’s fifth win in six years, which is an impressive record, especially given the high-level of competition in the region. The team will advance to represent Southern California at the national competition.
Sierra Vista’s Science Olympiad team hosted a Science Olympiad invitational at Beacon Park School in which 76 elementary and middle school teams from California and Texas, including 28 IUSD teams competed.
The ranking is based on factors such as academics, teachers, clubs and activities, diversity, college prep, athletics, and administration.

During the December 13 Board Meeting, Lauren Brooks was selected to serve as president and Cyril Yu was tapped to serve as clerk. Jeff Kim and Katie McEwen were sworn into office.
The Orange County Music and Arts Administrators (OCMAA) announced the 2023 Orange County Outstanding Arts Educators and OCMAA award recipients and honorees.
This year’s award is comprised of $72,000 in scholarships. The students were recognized for their excellent lab work and independent research projects.
IVA Elementary was one of two Orange County schools and one of 18 schools in California to be named a School of Excellence by the National PTA.
