Woodbridge High School Career Technical Education (CTE) Teacher Daniel Pilchman has been honored with the 2025 Outstanding STEM Educator Award for Outstanding Career Awareness Educator from the Orange County Department of Education. This annual award honors individuals who bring science, technology, engineering and mathematics to life through engaging, inquiry-based instruction that inspires curiosity and supports student success.
Daniel is known for blending academic and technical knowledge in his manufacturing class, guiding students through creative, skill-building projects such as designing and constructing electric guitars. His approach emphasizes project-based learning, community engagement and practical preparation for life after graduation.
“This honor is the result of the collaboration between Career Technical Education teachers, site administrators and Irvine Unified School District staff to create our manufacturing program,” said Pilchman. “I am thankful for the opportunity to bring attention to the importance of college and career readiness education and to the value that community engagement can bring to schools.”
He was one of twelve Orange County educators and community partners recognized for their innovation, leadership and commitment to advancing STEM education.
“Congratulations to Daniel on this honor,” said IUSD CTE Coordinator Vidalia Resendes. “This well-deserved recognition is a testament to his dedication and the lasting impact he has on his students. This award embodies the dedication and commitment of all the outstanding CTE teachers at IUSD, who work tirelessly to prepare our students for the future.”
Daniel was honored at the 2025 Outstanding STEM Educator Awards on November 19 at the Orange County Department of Education’s Conference Center in Costa Mesa.
