This year marks the Irvine Unified School District’s 50th anniversary and is a time to reflect on the “US” at the center of IUSD, which has enabled our school district to provide the highest quality educational experience we can envision for generations of students. Throughout 2022, IUSD will be honoring, celebrating and recognizing our collective history.
Students, staff, families and the community are at the heart of the “US” in IUSD and we invite you to help us visually capture the wonderful aspects of our school district, through IUSD’s 50th Anniversary Photo Contest!
The Contest is Open to Photographers of All Ages!
The Contest, which runs through May 17, is open to current and former IUSD students, staff and families, along with community members of all ages!
Students participating in yearbook, photography or other related courses, or who are involved with ASB, clubs and other school events are welcome to submit photos they have taken for these activities.

One photograph, per category, per entrant may be submitted. | There are no defined categories for this age group. However, it is suggested that students submit photos related to IUSD. Students in this age group may submit up to six (6) photos. |
Photo Submissions
The contest runs until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2022.
Entries can be submitted through the online Google Form, dropped off or mailed to the District Office at 5050 Barranca Parkway, Irvine, CA 92604 (Attention: IUSD Public Information Office).
Contest Winners
Winners will be announced the week of May 23, 2022. The six winners for each category in the 12 & Up group and the three winners in the 11 & Under group will have their photos permanently displayed at IUSD’s District Office, receive recognition at a Board of Education Meeting, have their photos showcased during IUSD’s State of the District, posted on IUSD’s website and social media sites and shared with local media.
All submitted photos that meet the contest guidelines will be shared on IUSD’s website.
