Elementary Teachers Greg Bergevin and Stephanie Smith, along with Irvine High School Principal Monica Colunga were honored for making a difference in the lives of IUSD students through arts education.
For the ninth consecutive year, IUSD has been named one of the nation’s Best Communities for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation. IUSD joins only four percent of school districts nationwide to receive this prestigious honor for its commitment to music and education.
The Irvine Company presented IUSD with a check for $2 million as part of the Excellence in Education Enrichment Fund grant. This Fund supports art, music and science education for IUSD students in grades four through six.

After taking the field for separate performances, marching bands from IUSD’s five comprehensive high schools joined forces for a big finale during “Band Spectacular.”

IUSD will host the 37th Annual Donald Bren Honors Concert on Wednesday, April 17 at the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall at 7 p.m.
