Connect with IUSD: Resources to Support Parent and Family Engagement

As part of IUSD’s ongoing commitment to continuous improvement, we have launched the “Connect with IUSD” campaign to ensure that our diverse community can quickly and easily access the resources, services, and information you need in your preferred languages and accessible formats. Based on feedback from last year’s Annual Survey and input from various committees, students, and parents, we’ve identified a need for greater awareness of IUSD programs, with content available in multiple languages and accessible formats.

In addition to the Helpful Links Resource Guide, which may have arrived or soon will arrive at your home, we’re excited to introduce the "Connect with IUSD" and Communications webpages. These platforms offer tutorials on customizing communication preferences and setting language options for ParentSquare, the Parent Portal, and IUSD websites. We hope you will explore and utilize these resources throughout the year.

Please take a moment to watch Superintendent Walker's video message which is available in multiple languages, sharing more about these new resources. More...

IUSD’s Program to Tackle Food Waste and Feed Our Community

IUSD is tackling food waste and providing food to those in need with our Edible Food Recovery and Donation Program! By collecting surplus food from school campuses and delivering it to local food banks like South County Outreach we're helping feed those in need while reducing waste. On campus, students and staff can help us make a difference by placing unopened, packaged cafeteria meals in share boxes, which provides an extra helping for others on campus who may need it. This initiative program, aligned with California’s SB 1383, is about turning excess into community support—one food item at a time! More…
