OC Music and Arts Administrators honor 10 IUSD Arts Faculty

Ten IUSD art educators and administrators have been recognized for their contributions and commitment to student success in the arts.

The Orange County Music and Arts Administrators recently announced the 2022 OC Outstanding Arts Educators and Music and Art Award Recipients. Ten IUSD art faculty members have been selected for their commitment to excellence within arts education.

IUSD is committed to providing students with opportunities to pursue their arts passions, including dance, vocal/instrumental music, visual art, digital and media art or theater. In addition to fostering a sense of community and belonging, arts education can encourage increased self-confidence and self-understanding to support social and emotional wellness.  It also supports academic skills, such as learning to analyze and solve problems, communication and collaboration, and can enhance reading, speech and cognition. IUSD’s talented honorees embody this commitment and we thank them for their dedication to developing the whole child.   

The Orange County Music and Arts Administrators is a network of district leaders, community arts educators, business, and parents. Monthly meetings are a forum for learning, solving common problems, communicating information, and promoting arts education for all students. The OC Music and Arts Administrators is dedicated to quality, equity and access to arts programs for all students which stem from comprehensive district arts plans, dynamic community collaborations, and informed leadership.

The 10 IUSD honorees will be recognized at the upcoming ceremony on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 5 p.m. located at the Samueli Theater at Segerstrom Center for the Arts.
