IUSD would like to welcome back our students, families and staff to our campuses and classrooms, as in-person instruction begins today and tomorrow, for those who selected in-person academic models!

As part of IUSD's inclusive and proactive planning for the 2020-21 school year, the District has identified and allocated more than $21 million for health and safety measures.  As we prepare to welcome back more than 22,000 students to our campuses and classrooms this article details IUSD process and investments.
Assuming the county’s data continues trending in a positive direction for 14 consecutive days, IUSD schools will reopen for in-person instruction, for those who selected an in-person academic model, September 24-25.  September 21 and 22 will be staff development/non-student days.  
September is Emergency Preparedness Month and IUSD would like to remind our community about the importance of being prepared for emergencies.  Included is information about IUSD's planning and tips from the Irvine Police Department and the Orange County Fire Authority.  
The Orange County Health Care Agency announced that although county coronavirus rates continue to drop, the California Department of Public Health has moved the September 8 start date so that OC schools could be in a position to reopen for in-person instruction starting September 22, as long as the downward trend in coronavirus rates continues.
 Orange County has been removed from the California Department of Public Health’s COVID-19 monitoring list, creating a path for OC school districts, including IUSD, to open for in-person instruction for families who selected hybrid or traditional academic models.  Read this article for IUSD planning and next steps.

IUSD’s Nutrition Services is serving daily grab-and-go meals at all school sites. Meals are available for purchase or as part of the free and reduced meal program for students who qualify. Please see this article for more information, including meal pick-ups and community resources.
