All IUSD students will receive free meals during the 2021-22 school year through U.S. Department of Agriculture funding for school districts across the nation.  Meals include one breakfast (if breakfast is available at your school) and one lunch.  
The 2021-22 Safety and Planning Guide is a web resource that provides information about IUSD’s planning, protocols and mitigation efforts to prevent and limit the spread of COVID-19 on our campuses. Please review for important health and safety reminders.  
The California Department of Public Health issued updated guidance for all California K-12 schools to provide a pathway for students to return to a traditional, five-days per week, in-person academic model of instruction for the 2021-22 school year.   
Sierra Vista Middle School students Erin Hwang and Nagyung (Anna) Cho earned first place in the Junior Group Website category at this year’s National History Day competition and Sierra Vista classmate Hannah Cho was honored as a national finalist in the Junior Individual Documentary category.
Join IUSD’s Prevention and Intervention team for a series of virtual mental health and wellness enrichment programs this summer. The workshops are open to both parents/guardians and students.

As the final days of the 2020-21 school year come to a close and we prepare to celebrate our 2021 IUSD graduates and promoting sixth and eighth grade students, on behalf of the IUSD Board of Education and District leadership, I would like to honor and recognize our wonderful IUSD community. 
Lakeside Middle School’s seventh-grade academic pentathlon team has earned second place overall at the 2021 United States Academic Pentathlon. This follows their win as the highest scoring team in California during the state competition in April.    
During the last IUSD Board of Education Meeting of the 2020-21 school year, Board Members and Superintendent Walker recognized certificated, classified and administrative employees, who will retire before or on June 30.  In all, 77 IUSD employees will retire this year, collectively representing more than 2,014 years of service.
U.S. News & World Report released its latest ranking of the country's "Best High Schools."  IUSD led the way with the most Orange County high schools on the ranking.
