The Irvine Unified School District believes that discrimination, hate, racism, racial injustice and violence have no place in our society.  We are deeply saddened by and condemn the stream of violence, abuse and hate that has been directed toward the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. 
Northwood High School Principal, Dr. Leslie Roach has received Administrator of the Year honors from the Association of California School Administrators, for her outstanding leadership and significant contributions to education during her 22-year career with IUSD.   
As part of IUSD’s ongoing effort to prevent and limit the spread of COVID-19, the District has extended no cost COVID-19 testing for IUSD students, staff and staff dependents through April. 
As we head into the final months of the 2020-21 school year, the Irvine Unified School District has begun initial planning for the end of the current school year and the start of the 2021-22 school year.  Read this article for the full update.

IUSD students in grades 6-12 participated in the District’s 40th annual Science Fair, presenting an impressive array of biological, physical and engineering projects. USD will advance 137 students to the OC Science and Engineering Fair and 38 students will advance to the Broadcom MASTERS.  
This year's IUSD College and Career Fair will be hosted virtually.  With more than 150 colleges and universities represented, IUSD students can participate in informational workshops and panel sessions, learn about community partners, receive virtual college and university tours, discover CTE, and much more!    
University High School earned top honors at the Orange County Academic Decathlon, after finishing first in the 10-event virtual competition.  Woodbridge High School placed second, with both teams advancing to the state competition in March.    
IUSD school nurses are working beyond their normal hours to provide community COVID-19 support at vaccination clinics and/or through an after-hours helpline to provide IUSD families and staff health information and resources as part of the county’s COVID-19 Schools Response Team.
Career Technical Education Month is focused on CTE programs that prepare students for high-wage and high-demand careers. In IUSD, middle and high school students have opportunities to take CTE college and career readiness courses that provide hands-on learning experiences in a variety of industry sectors.  Click this article to learn more.
