IUSD Students Travel to Sacramento to Discuss Education with State Leaders

Yesterday on Tuesday, March 10, IUSD students from Creekside, Irvine, Portola, University and Woodbridge high schools traveled to Sacramento to discuss issues impacting education with state legislators and other influential policy makers. IUSD Board Members Lauren Brooks and Sharon Wallin, a handful of teachers, and PTA representatives accompanied the students.
IUSD’s 13th Annual ACE Day Celebrates Classified Employees

Last week as part of IUSD’s 13th Annual ACE Day, IUSD Board members and administrators shadowed custodians, maintenance workers, clerks and other classified employees to learn more about their jobs and responsibilities.  Appreciating Classified Employees (ACE) Day was established in 2007 by the California Schools Employee Association (CSEA). This day was created in order to recognize and celebrate classified employees while building understanding and relationships between administrative and classified staff.
IUSD Summer School Registration for Grades 9-12 Opening Soon

IUSD’s summer school program for grades 9-12 will begin June 11 and run through July 23. An onsite program will be offered at Irvine High School and a blended learning program will be offered at San Joaquin High School (Creekside Education Center).
IUSD Participates in Read Across America Day

IUSD started the month off right on Monday, March 2, 2020 by focusing on literacy and reading for Read Across America Day. To celebrate this day, each year several District schools invite special guests to read their favorite children’s books to elementary students.
