As the final days of the 2020-21 school year come to a close and we prepare to celebrate our 2021 IUSD graduates and promoting sixth and eighth grade students, on behalf of the IUSD Board of Education and District leadership, I would like to honor and recognize our wonderful IUSD community.
During the last IUSD Board of Education Meeting of the 2020-21 school year, Board Members and Superintendent Walker recognized certificated, classified and administrative employees, who will retire before or on June 30. In all, 77 IUSD employees will retire this year, collectively representing more than 2,014 years of service.
U.S. News & World Report released its latest ranking of the country's "Best High Schools." IUSD led the way with the most Orange County high schools on the ranking.
IUSD’s Nutrition Services we will be closed Monday, May 31 for Memorial Day. This week, IUSD will serve meals, as part of the Community Feeding Program, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and will provide three breakfasts and three lunches for each student on these days.

IUSD’s Sustainability team has announced the 2021 Earth Day poster contest winners. More than 600 students submitted original works of art, demonstrating the theme of “Restore our Earth.” Congratulations to the winners and thank you to all participants.
Today is National School Nurse Day, which is part of National Nurses Week. IUSD would like to recognize and thank our dedicated and caring school nurses. In addition to their regular work hours, they have gone above and beyond to support IUSD staff, students and families, and the community throughout this year.
IUSD is seeking qualified volunteers to serve on the independent Measure E Citizens Oversight Committee (COC). The COC monitors bond expenditures and ensures bond revenues are allocated in compliance with the voter approved measure. Applications are due by June 11.
Funding from the Irvine Children’s Fund to the Irvine Child Care Project will expand scholarships available to working and income-eligible families to help pay for child care programs located on every IUSD elementary and K-8 school campus.
