High School Summer Programs
Registration for our High School Summer School Programs (Learning Recovery and Acceleration/Enrichment) will open on Tuesday, April 12 and will close on Sunday, April 24 at 8 p.m. Registrations received after April 24, will automatically be rerouted to our wait lists.
Learning Recovery Dates (in -person instruction) June 9-July 21 (no school July 4 or 5)
- Times : 7:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (Session 1 - 7:45-10:00 a.m. | Session 2 – 10:15 a.m.-12:30 p.m.)
- Location: University High School
Acceleration and Enrichment Dates (virtual instruction) June 9-July 21 (no school July 4 or 5)
- Times: 7:45 a.m.-3:00 p.m. (Session 1 - 7:45 a.m.-9:45 a.m. |Session 2 – 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. |Session 3 – 1:00-3:00 p.m.)
- Location: Virtual, with the exception of in-person assessments for Math Bridge (see catalog for dates)

Who should attend summer school?
- Any student who has earned a D or an F in a course needed to graduate or needed to satisfy the College Readiness requirements.
- Any student who is interested in completing their Health requirement, a semester of PE, or interested in exploring Fine Arts or completing their requirement (Drawing).
- Any student who is interested in completing a CTE course (virtual courses).
- Any Math 2 student recommended for Math Bridge (virtual, with in-person assessments).
What if I am not sure what class(es) I should take?
- Please check in with your counselor.
What if I cannot commit to being there for the duration of the program?
- The attendance policies for both Learning Recovery and Acceleration/Enrichment are designed to ensure that students receive the maximum benefit from the courses. If you cannot commit to the attendance policies, outlined in the catalog, please talk with your counselor about other potential options.
How will I know what my schedule will be?
- Summer school schedules will be available through myiusd.org on or after June 1. The catalog contains directions
- Please note that the classes available to incoming 9th graders are as follows, pending space available:
- Math Foundations (open to students with a D or F in Math 8) – held at University High School in-person
- English Foundations (open to students with a D or F in any trimester of and 8th grade English course) – held at University High School in-person
- Health (virtual)
- Law and Order (virtual)
- Cybersecurity (virtual)
- Medical Terminology (virtual)
- Veterinary Science (virtual)
- Principles of Business (virtual)
- PE (virtual)
- Drawing (virtual)
Invitation Only Programs (Elementary, Middle, High Schools and Irvine Adult Transition Program)
- Invitations for our Extended School Year programs (Special Education) for Elementary, Middle school, High school, and Irvine Adult Transition Program will be sent out to families from their child's current case manager. Registration for ESY is ongoing and will continue throughout ESY dates.

- Elementary | Cypress Village and Eastshore (program dependent) | June 9 -July 8 (no school July 4 and 5) | 8:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
- IATP | IATP | June 9-July 8 (no school July 4 and 5) | 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
- Elementary invitations, including English Language Development, were sent out on March 11, with a deadline of March 25, in order to secure a spot for your child.
- Cypress Village | June 9 -July 8 (no school July 4 or 5) | 8:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.
- Stonegate | June 9- July 8 (no school July 4 or 5) | 8:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.
- Eastshore | June 9-July 8 (no school July 4 or 5) | 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
- Middle School invitations, including English Language Development, will be sent out on April 18 and must be accepted by April 25 in order to secure a spot for your student.
- Jeffrey Trail | June 9 -July 8 (no school July 4 or 5) | 8:20 a.m. -12:20 p.m.
- Lakeside | June 9-July 8 (no school July 4 or 5) | 8:20 a.m. -12:20 p.m.
- Math Bridge (Virtual and In-person) | Jeffrey Trail Middle School | June 6-July 1 | 9:00-10:30 a.m. **Invitations for middle school Math Bridge will be sent May 11 with a link to a Google registration form. Parents/students will have until May 18 to register .**
