The University High School Trojans boys soccer team captured the inaugural CIF State Division IV Championship this weekend with a thrilling 3–2 victory over Del Mar High School's boys soccer team in the title match held in Sacramento.
The championship game showcased the poise, control and confidence that defined University’s season. The Trojans secured the victory with goals from seniors Cole B. and Jake R., along with sophomore Brenden L., who helped seal the 3–2 win.
With the win, the Trojans capped off a historic season. The Trojans won the 2026 CIF-SS Division 4 Championship with a 3-0 win against Granite Hills on March 2, 2026. They subsequently won the CIF Southern California Regional Division IV championship on March 7, 2026, defeating Granite Hills 2-0.
“I’m incredibly proud of this group of players. They showed resilience, composure and belief in each other all season long. To win three CIF championship titles in one season is a testament to their hard work and determination," stated University coach Martin Wallwork.
