IUSD is pleased to announce that Christina Pierson has been named Principal of Stone Creek Elementary School and will begin her new role on July 1. Mrs. Pierson is well known to the Stone Creek school community as she currently serves in a leadership role in the front office, supporting Principal Berumen and the Stone Creek staff.
She was selected from a talented candidate pool in a competitive process that included input and participation from Stone Creek. Mrs. Pierson will work closely with Mrs. Berumen to ensure a smooth transition in leadership.
Mrs. Pierson has served as a site leader at Stone Creek for the past three years as Teacher on Special Assignment. Prior to that, she worked in a leadership capacity at Cypress Village Elementary for two years. She was a teacher at University Park Elementary for nine years and brings an excellent reputation as a skilled instructor to the principal role.
Mrs. Pierson is committed to ensuring that all students learn to their maximum potential and to fostering innovation through collaboration with teachers, staff, students and families. She is familiar with the traditions and successful practices at Stone Creek and cannot wait to get started in her new role.
“The Stone Creek students, staff, and parent community have become very special to me over the last three years,” said Mrs. Pierson. “I look forward to sharing in many more laughs, memories, and wonderful experiences as a school community in the years to come.”
Mrs. Pierson lives in Lake Forest with her husband Charlie and two children, Lucas and Maddie. During her free time, she loves to read and spend time with family and friends. She also likes to travel and spends part of her summers with her family in Northern Michigan enjoying the quietness of lake life.
