Teacher Appreciation Week is May 4-8 and recognizes our teachers and certificated staff for their dedication, talent, resiliency, adaptability and compassion. The USD Board of Education and Superintendent Walker have recorded a special video message to express the District's gratitude.
During an April 28 press briefing, Governor Newsom discussed the possibility of schools reopening for the 2020-21 school year starting this summer. On April 29, State Superintendent Tony Thurmond issued a statement about his intent to explore this possibility with state and national leaders.
Each year, IUSD teachers, classified staff and administrators work together to develop school calendars for the years ahead, for both traditional and year-round schools. IUSD would like feedback from our community before we finalize these calendars for the next two academic school years.
Last week IUSD students and schools celebrated Earth Day, Read a Book to a Pet Day and World Book Day, while continuing distance learning, engaging in school spirit activities, and sharing important resources and information.
U.S. News & World Report released its latest ranking of the country's "Best High Schools." IUSD is the only Orange County school district to have three high schools in the California top 100 ranking.
From energy efficiency to recycling, IUSD and our Sustainability Team are dedicated to making our schools and facilities more eco-friendly and sustainable, while educating students and staff.
