Irvine students successfully launched their first-ever satellite into space!  The Irvine CubeSat STEM Program, which is comprised more than 100 students from six Irvine high schools launched Mission IRVINE01 with Rocket Lab on Sunday, November 11.
After a long school year, children can certainly benefit from rest and relaxation, but it’s also important to prevent the loss of learning over the summer.  In this article are five fun ways to ensure young minds stay sharp over the summer.    
IUSD’s 37th annual District Science Fair Open House is Tuesday, Feb. 27 at the Portola High School gymnasium (1001 Cadence, Irvine).  Sixth grade awards and open house 5-6:30 p.m. in the gym. Seventh- twelfth grade awards begin at 7 p.m. in the theater. 
The Irvine Public Schools Foundation’s (IPSF) annual fundraising campaign ends December 31. Funds raised make a difference where it matters most – in the classroom. 
Today is Giving Tuesday - a global day dedicated to giving back. IUSD's 39 schools are coming together to Turn Irvine Orange in support of the Irvine Public Schools Foundation (IPSF), and IUSD educational excellence.
Assistant Superintendent of Education Services Cassie Parham received the Excellence in Leadership Award from the Irvine Public Schools Foundation (IPSF) at the 8th Annual Spirit of Excellence Gala and Auction.

After a strong performance at state, two IUSD projects will move on to the Kenneth E. Behring National History Day Contest at the University of Maryland at College Park from June 11-15.
For the fifth consecutive year, IUSD has been named one of the nation’s Best Communities for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation.  

Hundreds of IUSD’s outstanding musicians took center stage during the 35th annual Donald Bren Honors Concert at Segerstrom Concert Hall, located at the Orange County Performing Arts Center.
