In conducting its search for IUSD’s next superintendent, the Board of Education is seeking the community's input about the desired qualities and characteristics of a new schools chief.

We are reporting live from University High School, where it's just been announced that science teacher David Knight is IUSD's 2011 High School Teacher of the Year.

IUSD has generated plenty of buzz with its recent plan to partner with SunEdison and SPG Solar to establish solar panels atop 21 district sites – a move conservatively projected to save $8.5 million in energy costs over 20 years.

For the last eight years, the Irvine Family Resource Center has been a vital community resource, assisting IUSD students and their families with counseling, parenting support and linkage to information and services. Then a drop in funding threatened the center's continuation at the end of last school year.
