August 9 is National Book Lover Day, which is a wonderful opportunity to share a love of reading with your kids.  Check out this article for information about how families can support literacy and reading at home.
August is National Wellness Month, which focuses on self-care, managing stress and promoting healthy routines. This is a great reminder for students, staff and families to create healthy habits, especially during the school year, when schedules are often busy and there are several competing priorities. 
IUSD joined the Children’s Hospital of Orange County, the Tsao Family Foundation and the Orange County Department of Education to celebrate the District WellSpaces set to open for the 2022-23 school year.  
IUSD would like to thank our community for participating in the 50th Anniversary Photo Contest. With more than 200 photo submissions, there was a broad range of outstanding photos that creatively captured the many wonderful and different aspects of our District.  
IUSD is proud of each graduate and we wish our students best wishes and success as they embark on this next phase of their lives.

Ken Kafton is the only employee who has been with IUSD for the entirety of its history, witnessing its growth and evolution.  In this article, Ken shares his story and some of the District's history starting in the early 1970s, before IUSD was even its own school district. 
The Children’s Hospital of Orange County has received a $2 million gift from the Tsao Family Foundation to work in collaboration with the Orange County Department of Education to establish 17 WellSpaces on IUSD secondary school campuses over the next four years.
