Dear IUSD Community,

I am delighted to introduce the theme of this month's IUSD Insights, "Parent and Family Engagement," which is focused on fostering awareness about and connections to a variety of helpful resources and supports available for IUSD families.  While this content does not capture the full breadth of IUSD programs and services, it provides an excellent overview and a starting point for connecting with the District.

Together, in partnership with our families, students and staff, we have created one of the highest-performing school districts in the nation that is student-centered, committed to educational equity for all students and driven by continuous improvement.  We believe that creating positive educational environments in which students and families have a sense of belonging and feel connected to their schools, peers, teachers and our district is foundational to the academic success and overall social-emotional well-being of our students.

As we work together to support our students and community, we thank you for taking a moment to review this important information, which includes:

  • Parent and Family Engagement services and supports
  • Irvine Parent Education Program workshops
  • IUSD’s Parent Center
  • Information about IUSD’s Annual Survey and the LCAP process to proactively receive parent/guardian feedback about your child’s educational experiences
  • IUSD’s commitment to Special Education, including the Community Advisory Committee
  • Mental health and wellness resources
  • How to Stay Connected to IUSD
  • The District’s Student Advisory Committee
  • Opportunities for employment within IUSD

Again, we strongly encourage you to explore the resources and stories in this November edition of IUSD Insights.  Please reach out to your school or our District teams if you have questions or need further assistance. We are here to support our families and students.

As always, please also continue to visit our website at iusd.org for more information about IUSD, our dedicated staff, available services, resources and much more.

Thank you for being a vital part of the IUSD community. Your engagement makes a significant impact on the success of our students.

Wishing you a month filled with connection, support and community.

Sincerely,
Terry L. Walker
