IUSD Participated in Joint Emergency Management Tabletop Exercise

EPIC Meeting

The Irvine Unified School District participated in a joint tabletop exercise with members of the Emergency Preparedness Interagency Collaborative (EPIC). A joint partnership between public safety agencies and public and private education institutions in the Greater Irvine area, EPIC was founded by IUSD in 2014 and meets quarterly to discuss, plan and prepare for a variety of safety-related topics.

Hosted at Sage Hill School, the November 17, 2022 meeting was focused on violent intruder response and recovery.  Attendees included expert representatives from:

Previous tabletop exercises and meetings have focused on wildfire preparedness and response, violent intruder prevention and staff trainings, other human-made and natural disasters, collaboration and partnerships between local agencies, and communications, among other topics.
