We are pleased to announce that Timothy Moeller has been named as the new Principal of Brywood Elementary School and Sam Joo has been named as the new Principal of Stonegate Elementary School.
Mr. Moeller and Mr. Joo were selected from a talented candidate pool in a competitive selection process that included input and participation from each school’s staff and community. Both new principals will work with their respective schools and District leaders to ensure a smooth transition, especially as Brywood prepares to temporarily relocate for the 2018-19 school year to Westwood Basics for Measure E upgrades to the Brywood campus.
Brywood
Mr. Moeller is currently an elementary principal in Montgomery County, Virginia and is relocating back to California with his family in July. He has eleven years of elementary experience as a principal, assistant principal, and teacher. He is student-centered in his approach and is aware of the excellent reputation of Brywood. He is an advocate of continuous improvement and forward thinking, and is committed to ensuring that all students reach their maximum potential through innovation and collaboration.
Mr. Moeller is excited to come to Brywood and will get up to speed quickly in what will be an important summer of transition. He will work with district leaders to make sure that everything is ready for a successful start to the new school year. He is looking forward to meeting staff, parents, and students over the summer.
“I can't wait to get to know everybody at Brywood. As I learned more about your school and community, it became clear to me that it was the only place I wanted to be,” said Mr. Moeller.
Mr. Moeller is looking forward to many weekend adventures in and around Orange County. He loves spending time at the beach, exploring new places, and being with family.
Stonegate
Mr. Joo comes to us from Anaheim Union where he most recently served as Principal at Brookhurst Junior High. He has more than twenty years of experience in education and has been an elementary teacher, and a math and science teacher at the middle school level. Additionally, Mr. Joo has served as an administrator at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels. Mr. Joo is excited to get to know the students, staff and parent community at Stonegate.
"I’m excited to begin the school year at Stonegate and to get to know each of you as we work together to best serve our scholars and community. I am confident that by working together, encouraging and supporting one another, we will have a great year and experience a lot fun along the way."
Mr. Joo lives in Fullerton with his wife, elementary teacher, Andrea, and their two elementary school-age daughters, Joey and Abby. In addition to the busy life of a young family, the Joos enjoy reading together and playing tetherball in their backyard.
