Mental Health and Wellness SUPPORT Staff Roles
Mental Health Specialists:
The Mental Health Specialist provides school-based mental health supports to students at our secondary school sites. They provide a variety of therapeutically informed interventions to support students in crisis, through short-term individual, small group, and resource linkage. Additionally, Mental Health Specialists support the school site through school-wide initiatives and campaigns related to suicide prevention, mental health awareness, and wellness workshops. Mental Health Specialist’s aim to work alongside families and school site teams to create continuity of care for our students allowing them to achieve their highest potential.
Elementary Resource Counseling Specialists:
The Elementary Resource Counseling Specialist provides school based social-emotional and mental health support at each of our elementary schools. They provide services in a variety of ways including: short-term school based individual and targeted group counseling for students, crisis response, lunch bunch, school campaigns and activities, parent support, resource linkage for families and professional learning for school staff.
Project Success:
At the high school level, Project Success Specialists support students in individual or small group settings to address typical teen wellness concerns such as stress management, goal setting, conflict resolution, healthy relationships, developing self-control, and dealing with loss and/or major life transitions.
Guidance Assistants:
Guidance Assistants support student social-emotional development and work collaboratively with their teachers, Elementary Resource Counseling Specialists, and administrative team to support students.
