As we head into the Thanksgiving break, IUSD’s Director of STEM Bob Curley is sharing the importance and the neuroscience of gratitude for this week’s Mindful Monday.

The Irvine Unified School District participated in a joint tabletop exercise with members of the Emergency Preparedness Interagency Collaborative (EPIC).

During the November 15 Board of Education Meeting, the IUSD community thanked retiring Board Members Sharon Wallin and Ira Glasky for their years of service.

This year’s award is comprised of $72,000 in scholarships. The students were recognized for their excellent lab work and independent research projects.

IVA Elementary was one of two Orange County schools and one of 18 schools in California to be named a School of Excellence by the National PTA. 

In this week’s Mindful Monday, Ulises Garcia, Coordinator of College and Career Readiness, focuses on the importance of celebrating small achievements along the way to achieving larger goals.

As part of World Kindness Week, this special Mindful Monday is focused on the importance of kindness in supporting child development, mental health, overall wellness and creating a kinder community around us.
