We would like to remind our students and families of valuable Halloween safety recommendations provided by the Irvine Police Department.

As students go through high school, parents and families may be surprised to learn that meeting the minimum graduation requirements for an IUSD diploma does not automatically mean their child is eligible to apply and attend a University of California (UC) or California State University (CSU).

Throughout the week of October 23-31, IUSD schools, Irvine Unified Council PTA, the City of Irvine and the Irvine Police Department, parents and students will join forces to champion the Red Ribbon Week theme of “Life is a Puzzle - Solve it with Healthy Choices.”

IUSD continues its tradition of excellence, with state standardized assessment scores outperforming both state and Orange County averages. IUSD ranked No. 1 in California in Science, Mathematics, and English Language Arts/Literacy (ELA) for public school districts with 35,000 or more students.

IUSD is hosting Ask-A-Scientist/Engineer Night! This free annual event will assist students in grades 6 through 12 who are working on science fair projects. 

October is National Bullying Prevention Month. Our students, staff and families are across IUSD schools to continue to raise awareness and support kind and respectful school cultures. Below are five facts about bullying prevention on our campuses.  

IUSD's College, Career and Life Readiness Fair is on October 28 from 5-7 p.m. at Irvine High School (4321 Walnut Avenue, Irvine). All students, families and community members are invited to this free event.

Eighteen IUSD students earned the Congressional Gold Medal Award, the United States Congress’s highest honor bestowed upon a youth civilian.

IUSD is excited to introduce our 2025-26 Student Board Members, who represent each of the District’s five comprehensive high schools. The IUSD Board of Education and District staff greatly value the important role these student leaders play in representing their peers and the diverse needs of our students.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation recently recognized 62 IUSD students as semifinalists in its prestigious scholarship program, the highest number of qualifiers in the county.
