The Irvine Company announced that Woodbridge High School’s video team has won this year’s Only In Irvine video contest for their “Takin’ It Easy” video. The Warrior team’s video, which was produced, written, filmed and directed by Claire Imler and Connor Simon, was unanimously selected by a panel of expert judges. The team was presented with the grand prize, a $5,000 check, during the May 23 IUSD Board of Education meeting.
As part of the contest, all Irvine high school teams were tasked with producing three-minute videos based on this year’s theme, “Irvine at Play.” To view the video submissions, including the winning video, visit http://bit.ly/2qGhlA7.
“The Irvine Unified School District is very appreciative of the Irvine Company enabling our students to participate in the Only In Irvine video contest,” said Brad Van Patten, IUSD Fine Arts Coordinator. “This contest not only gives our students the opportunity to hone their video production skills, but they also learn real world business skills in terms of meeting client needs, working to obtain filming permits, collaborating with a team, scheduling and directing actors and so much more.”
The five other participating teams also received $2,500 from the Irvine Company to advance their video programs.
Congratulations to the Warriors and thank you to the Irvine Company for its innovative Only In Irvine video contest. For more information, visit onlyinirvine.com.
