This is a reminder that Early College Program (ECP) applications are due on April 11 by 11:59 p.m.
In partnership with Irvine Valley College (IVC), the Irvine Unified School District (IUSD) is launching the ECP for incoming 9th-grade students starting the 2025-26 school year. This program offers academically qualified students a unique opportunity to earn nearly two years of transferable college credits while completing their high school education. The ECP can save students both time and money, which can be directed toward a career, graduate work, or other academic goals.
Program Highlights:
- Open to current 8th-grade students starting their 9th-grade year at IUSD high schools.
- Requires a 4-year commitment.
- Most IVC classes are virtual or asynchronous, Monday-Thursday from 8-9:30 a.m., with occasional in-person assessments or labs.
- Courses are UC/CSU transferable and can lead to IGETC Certification or even an associate’s degree with additional units.
- Eight spaces are available per high school, with more spots if available.
- We encourage families who may not have experience with the college admissions process or are unfamiliar with its complexities to learn more about this program and apply.
Important Dates to Remember:
- April 11, 2025: ECP Application closes
- April 15, 2025: In-Person Essay at Creekside Education Center
Please ensure your student submits their application by the deadline.
