School Zone Safety Tips

A crossing guard holds a stop sign, directing traffic near a school.

As we head into a busy second half of the school year, we would like to remind our community of these important traffic safety reminders in and around school zones.

Please remember to leave plenty of time for drop-offs and pick-ups, drive slowly and watch for students walking, biking, crossing streets and parking lots. Once in the school parking lot, please follow all traffic signs and directions from principals and school staff. Please take a moment to review the following safety reminders from the Irvine Police Department (IPD) and watch an e-bike safety video from IPD.

Students who ride e-vehicles to school must follow their school’s registration process. For more information, please contact your middle or high school administration office.

We’re in this together! Let’s all do our part to keep each other safe.

Follow these traffic safety reminders to help ensure a safe school zone and parking lot experience.
