IUSD's State of the District Focused on Continuous Improvement

2022 State of the District

Thank you to all who attended the 2022 State of the District, held in the new Performing Arts Center at Woodbridge High School on Tuesday, October 18.

Outstanding student performances kicked off the evening, including Woodbridge High School’s Philharmonic Orchestra and Rally Band, along with a variety of student displays and food provided by students in the Culinary Arts Program.  President of the Board of Education, Ira Glasky, delivered the opening remarks, followed by Superintendent Terry Walker’s State of the District presentation, which celebrated 50 years of educational excellence and continuous improvement.

Superintendent Walker discussed a range of topics that highlighted the attitudes, skills and knowledge students need for success academically, personally and in the workplace, with a focus on teaching and learning, staffing, investments in technology and facilities, and how we maximize limited resources.

Also in attendance were Board Members Paul Bokota, Lauren Brooks, Sharon Wallin and Cyril Yu, who were joined by members of the IUSD community and local dignitaries.

In honor of IUSD’s 50th anniversary, the Irvine Company and The Donald Bren Foundation presented the Board and Superintendent Walker with a special $4 million contribution, as part of their decades-long partnership with the District and their commitment to supporting art, music and science education for students.  Click here to read more.
