College and Career Fair 2024

IUSD's College, Career and Life Readiness Fair is on October 28 from 5-7 p.m. at University High School (4771 Campus Drive, Irvine). 

All students, families and community members are invited to this free event, which will feature:

  • Interactive workshops
  • College and university representatives 
  • Military Information
  • Career Technical Education (CTE) pathway information
  • Learning opportunities from community partners
  • National Collegiate Athletics Association information
  • A chance to engage in your future and life readiness!

5:15-5:40 p.m.Classroom 201Ask A Senior – Choosing a College and Major: Hosted by IUSD students who will share their college application process, choosing a major or field of study, and which colleges they decided to apply to and why.
5:15-5:40 p.m. & 6:10-6:35 p.m.Multipurpose RoomThis panel presentation provides a comprehensive look at what IUSD Career Technical Education (CTE) offers, as well as IUSD's CTE priorities and mission. An overview of our Regional Occupation Program (ROP) classes and its impact on students' college/career readiness will also be explored. Hear from one of our CTE teachers, who will provide an overview and first-hand description of the CTE classroom experience.

In this session, we’ll share practical tips for making everyday conversations more connected to real-world careers. Together, we can bridge the gap between self-identity and future career pathways—setting your child up for long-term success.

Learn how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is influencing job roles, discover key skills to stay ahead, and participate in an interactive activity to gauge your Artificial Intelligence (AI) knowledge.
5:15-5:40 p.m. & 6:10-6:35 p.m.Classroom 205Informing Parents about Career and College Exploration (What can you do now?) Research shows that by 5th grade, students have decided if they can or cannot go to college. How can parents support their kids on college exploration NOW?

6:10-6:35 p.m.Classroom 201High School to College Transition: Hosted by former IUSD students currently attending UCI and IVC Student Ambassadors. Panelist will share their story transitioning to college from high school, tips and strategies for navigating freshman year, and college life.
