IUSD Board Names District’s 24th Elementary School

During the IUSD Board of Education Meeting on January 23, the Board unanimously approved the name, Loma Ridge Elementary School for the District’s soon-to-be 24th Elementary school, which is set to open in August 2019.  In addition to Portola Springs Elementary School, this new K-6 facility will be the second elementary school to serve the Portola Springs community. 

Aligned to IUSD's Educational Specifications, Loma Ridge will be a state-of-the-art education facility that will continue IUSD’s tradition of excellence. The 59,000 square foot campus is on 11.3 acres and will include the following features:

  • Two story classroom building:
  • Classrooms for Grades 1-6
  • Media Center
  • Innovation Lab
  • Design Lab
  • Video Production Space
  • Collaboration Spaces and Student Breakout Spaces
     
  • Activity Center:
  • Multipurpose Room with a Stage  
  • Music Classrooms
     
  • Administration Building:
  • Kindergarten Classrooms
  • Collaboration Areas
  • Separate Kindergarten Play Area
  • Administrative Spaces

  • Covered Lunch Shelters
     
  • Two Parking Lots and a Separate Kindergarten Drop-Off Area

The Loma Ridge groundbreaking ceremony is expected to be held this May at the future school site.
