The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Orange County, including Irvine, from Wednesday, September 4 through Tuesday, September 10. IUSD outdoor activities will be modified accordingly. This may include but is not limited to:
- Indoor PE or recess
- Less strenuous outdoor activities
- Encouraging students to stay in the shade and to stay hydrated
- Other modifications for athletics will be implemented in accordance with the County’s “Hot Weather Guidelines for Athletic Practice.” Look for messages from your student’s coaches.
Please remind your student to drink water throughout the day and to wear light, loose-fitting clothing and hats outside. All IUSD schools have air-conditioning to ensure a comfortable learning environment. Student safety remains our top priority!
