The Irvine Public Schools Foundation has teamed up with Vizio and local alt-rockers Young the Giant for a video contest that will award $10,000 in technology to one lucky IUSD high school.

Irvine, Northwood, University and Woodbridge high schools recently submitted their own student-made videos that promote music education while featuring the Young the Giant song “Cough Syrup.” Facebook users now have until Dec. 14 to pick their favorites, and the top two vote-getters will be named finalists. The winning entry, to be selected by a panel that will include IPSF and Vizio representatives, as well as members of the hometown band, will be announced at Young the Giant’s sold-out benefit concert on Dec. 17. The school that produced the video will get $10,000 in Vizio equipment. To watch the videos and to cast your vote, go to Vizio’s Facebook page and click “Like” at the top of the page.
