Digital Citizenship Week

Digital Citizenship Week

October 16-20 is Digital Citizenship Week, which is an opportunity to remind our community about the importance of good digital citizenship.  The following are some tips to keep in mind.

  • Think before you post
  • Follow our school acceptable use guidelines
  • Remember that anything posted online is permanent
  • Communicate respectfully
  • Use digital tools to talk with people, not about them
  • Stand up to cyberbullying
  • Give proper credit when using other people’s work
  • Protect your private information
  • Learn to differentiate between what’s real and what’s fake and know the source of information
  • Report poor behavior, including cyber bullying to a trusted adult or use IUSD’s Say Something Anonymous Reporting System.

Families can learn more about supporting good digital citizenship by visiting Common Sense Media.  Click here to learn more about K-12 digital citizenship in IUSD.  Included in this resource is a digital citizenship presentation for parents.
