Melanie Hertig, who currently serves as director of Special Education in the Temecula Valley Unified School District, has been selected to take on a similar role in Irvine, where she’ll work alongside Director Erica Hawkes. Her start date is July 1.

IUSD Superintendent Terry Walker has announced a new principal for Westpark Elementary School. Deanna Rutter, who is currently vice principal at an elementary school in the Anaheim City School District, will succeed Principal Ann Marie Simmons, starting July 1.
