IUSD has been awarded the 2019 Innovations in Networking Award for Educational Applications.  The District received this prestigious designation for leveraging the power of high-speed broadband to transform K-12 education. 
The IUSD College and Career Fair is Monday, March 11 at Irvine High School in the gymnasium from 6-8 p.m.  This free event is open to the public and students of all ages.
On Saturday, February 23 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m., the Irvine Unified School District will host a free electronics recycling event at the District Office.
 The Woodbridge High Academic Decathlon team's three-peat at the county competition makes them a force to contend with at the state tournament this March.   
On February 11, while students had a day off, more than 2,000 teachers, administrators and staff had a day on and attended IUSD’s Professional Learning Summit focused on teaching and learning.
Superintendent Terry L. Walker delivered his second annual State of the District address Jan. 18, focused on the future of education in the Irvine Unified School District and the District’s commitment to continuous improvement to prepare students for an ever-changing world.  
Irvine students successfully launched their first-ever satellite into space!  The Irvine CubeSat STEM Program, which is comprised more than 100 students from six Irvine high schools launched Mission IRVINE01 with Rocket Lab on Sunday, November 11.
Jeffrey Trail Middle School Science Olympiad team is the first-ever Orange County middle school and first IUSD school to win state and to compete at nationals. 
Fourteen IUSD student projects placed and Northwood High Senior Nitya Parthasarathy was named the “California Science & Engineering Fair Student of the Year.”
IUSD’s 37th annual District Science Fair Open House is Tuesday, Feb. 27 at the Portola High School gymnasium (1001 Cadence, Irvine).  Sixth grade awards and open house 5-6:30 p.m. in the gym. Seventh- twelfth grade awards begin at 7 p.m. in the theater.
