Superintendent Walker announced his plans to retire after nearly 30 years of dedicated service. In his message, he reflects on the District's shared values and accomplishments and his heartfelt appreciation for the IUSD community.
Our gratitude is rooted in a deep appreciation for the diverse voices, perspectives, people, and cultures within the IUSD community who seek common ground centered around educational excellence and helping students become empowered learners and engaged citizens.
We created IUSD Insights to keep our community informed and engaged. Each month, we share updates on District priorities and the people behind our commitment to delivering the best educational experience.
Elected by the citizens of their respective trustee areas, these Board members come together to represent and support the interests of the entire Irvine community, including our families, students, staff, and residents.
IUSD's Student Board Members represent each of the District’s five comprehensive high schools and serve in an advisory capacity by participating in discussions and providing valuable insights.
In addition to preparing for the new school year, our IUSD staff participated in professional learning and planning meetings to continuously improve our teaching practices and service to students and families.
On behalf of the IUSD Board of Education, administrators, and staff, we are excited to welcome our new and returning students to the 2024-25 school year. We are dedicated to developing the whole child so they are equipped with the attitudes, skills, and knowledge to meet their academic and personal goals within IUSD and beyond.
May 6-10 is National Teacher Appreciation Week. Thank you to our dedicated and talented teachers and certificated staff!
On behalf of the IUSD Board of Education, I would like to thank our students, staff, and families for the support, dedication, and resilience that each of you brings to our district. You are the “US” at the center of IUSD.
More than 600 students in IUSD's honors ensemble chorus and orchestra performed in the District’s 40th annual Donald Bren Honors Concert. The District also received a $2 million contribution from the Irvine Company in support of educational excellence.
