IUSD’s Sustainability Team held a poster or video contest to celebrate and recognize Earth Day. This year, there were 40 poster and 8 video winners across grade levels.

Portola High School was named a 2025 California Green Ribbon School sustainability honoree by the California Department of Education for their outstanding achievements in environmental excellence.

In celebration of Earth Month and in recognition of the district’s commitment to sustainability, IUSD is proud to highlight our sustainability initiatives and impact across campuses.

IUSD’s sustainability team is hosting the District’s annual Earth Day Student Poster Contest, which is open to all IUSD students. This year’s theme is “Our Power, Our Planet: Renewable Energy Now.”

As the New Year begins, we remind our community to use the three-bin waste sorting system to keep our campus and planet clean.
IUSD is committed to reducing food waste and combating food insecurity by redirecting surplus food from schools to those in need through its Edible Food Recovery and Donation Program.
