U.S. News & World Report released its latest ranking of the country's "Best High Schools" this week, and four of IUSD’s comprehensive campuses made the list. Additionally, IUSD is the only Orange County school district to have three schools in the California top 100 ranking.
- University High School, #47 in California, #378 in the U.S.
- Northwood High School, #55 in California, #423 in the U.S.
- Woodbridge High School, #71 in California, #532 in the U.S.
- Irvine High School, #153 in California, #1,080 in the U.S.
“The Best High Schools rankings take a comprehensive approach to evaluating schools,” said Eric Brooks, principal data analyst at U.S. News. According to the report, the highest-ranked schools are those whose students excelled on state tests and performed beyond expectations, participated in and passed a variety of college-level exams, and graduated in high proportions.
More than 18,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia were ranked. For more information on ranking criteria, click here.
