We have some photos to share this morning courtesy of Santiago Hills Elementary School, which hosted its Around the World in Santiago Hills (AWISH) Cultural Festival on May 31.

We’re told some 2,000 community members attended the evening event, which featured international cuisine options from nearly two dozen booths. Meanwhile, guests were treated to performances from West African and Bolivian dance troupes, as well as Jodaiko, a Japanese drumming ensemble from U.C. Irvine.

There was also a Dave & Buster's game booth, face painting, a bake walk, balloon artistry and a silent auction with more than 170 items up for bid.

“One of the highlights of this event was the Parade of Colors where students dressed in their traditional clothing came together to share their wonderful diverse cultures and celebrate their unity,” festival chair Samila Ardalan wrote via email. “The dedicated parent volunteers at Santiago Hills helped make this a successful event, and all the money raised will fund various programs at the school.”
