More than 200 IUSD students showcased innovative inventions at the 31st Annual Astounding Inventions™ competition held on Saturday, January 27 at Irvine Valley College. Astounding Inventions is an invention fair highlighting handmade inventions by students from the Irvine and Tustin school districts in kindergarten through eighth grade.
This year’s inventions spanned a wide range of categories, such as technology, safety, conservation, household items, personal gadgets and more. This included a fire-fighting robot, a water saving faucet, a scalable rocket recovery system, a child tracker safety system and vacuum shoe.
The competition was established more than three decades ago to promote student interest and learning in math and science.
