IUSD started the month off right on Monday, March 2, 2020 by focusing on literacy and reading for Read Across America Day. To celebrate this day, each year several District schools invite special guests to read their favorite children’s books to elementary students.
Some IUSD guest readers included IUSD Board Members Betty Carroll, Paul Bokota, Lauren Brooks and Superintendent Terry Walker.
Read Across America Day was established by the National Education Association to create a literacy campaign that seeks to encourage and motivate students to be successful readers.
