Each year, IUSD teachers, classified staff and administrators work together to develop school calendars for the years ahead, for both traditional and year-round schools. While instruction and learning are the primary considerations, this group also considers past history, tradition and feedback from the community. IUSD would like your feedback before we finalize these calendars for 2025-26 academic school year.
The draft 2025-26 traditional calendar is very similar in structure to the approved calendar for 2024-25 which has a week-long break at Thanksgiving. The draft 2025-26 year-round calendar also has a week-long break at Thanksgiving for year-round schools for the first time. To do this and to align with summer school calendars, the year-round calendar has an extended summer break and a shortened winter break. The number of school days has not changed.
