Brywood Elementary School is gearing up for its eighth annual BryWorld Culture Festival.

Free and open to the community, the event is billed as a vibrant celebration of student diversity, and it will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 4. This year’s theme is “Many Cultures … One BryWorld.” For those who have never been, the yearly BryWorld Culture Festival has grown to be a pretty big deal locally, with an estimated 1,500 people attending in 2011. This time around, guests can expect to find a playground that’s been transformed into world bazaar, with booths representing more than 20 countries. The festival will kick off with a “Parade of Nations,” featuring students in traditional costumes, followed by entertainment on the main stage, where students will perform the songs and dances of their heritages. There will also be a raffle, face-painting, a photo booth and carnival games, along with kettle corn and shaved ice for sale. Brywood is located at 1 Westwood in Irvine. For more information, click here.
