Thank You to Our Counselors: National School Counseling Week

National School Counseling Week

As part of National School Counseling Week, IUSD is celebrating and highlighting the important work of our school counselors. Thank you for your leadership, dedication, advocacy and support for our students. You truly make a positive impact within IUSD and beyond!

National School Counseling Week, which is themed "School Counseling: Standards-Based, Student-Focused," is from Feb. 5-9 and focuses public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within school systems. It is an opportunity to highlight the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.

The mission of IUSD School Counselors, grades 7-12, is to provide a comprehensive program that addresses the academic, social/emotional, and college and career development of all students, following the model of the American School Counselor Association and the California Association of School Counselors.

School Counselors work in partnership with other educators, parents/guardians, and community resources to support all students. This partnership helps ensure that all students have the opportunities to acquire the knowledge and skills to meet their highest potential and become lifelong learners, and responsible, contributing citizens in our community.
