A few days before campuses on the traditional calendar re-opened for the 2013-14 school year, IUSD quietly hit a significant milestone: Enrollment climbed past 30,000 students.
IUSD students continue to outpace their county and state counterparts on standards tests, according to the latest batch of scores released this month by the California Department of Education.
Come Monday, July 29, a new school year will begin for Plaza Vista School, Vista Verde School, Westpark Elementary and Woodbury Elementary.

Last month, more than 40 of Irvine’s brightest teaching stars were honored during the 27th annual Excellence in Teaching Awards Dinner at the Irvine Marriott.
Dozens of district administrators and all five school board members spent some time on Friday shadowing custodians, electricians, painters, clerks and other classified workers during IUSD’s sixth annual Appreciating Classified Employees Day. (Or ACE Day for short.)
You may remember that in February IUSD announced its Elementary, Middle and High school Teachers of the Year. Well, today's the day the district does the same for classified employees.
The 2016-17 school funding survey, which is part of the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) process closes Monday, May 16. If you haven’t already, please take a moment to participate in this survey.
Ten jazz ensembles from IUSD’s middle and high schools will perform in the Palm Court Arts Complex at the Orange County Great Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 10.
