Weekly Five: Planning for Summer Break

While this summer may be different than ones before, there are still plenty of activities to look forward to and plan for this upcoming summer break. Here are some tips and suggestions for enjoying this summer!

  1. Keep the learning going by taking online classes. The Irvine Public Schools Foundation (IPSF) will be holding summer classes online! Classes are available for incoming grades Kindergarten - 12th grade. Go to ipsf.net/what-we-do/summer for more information. 

  2. Get crafty! Work on DIY projects and fun crafts to keep yourself and your kids entertained this summer. Check out this STEM Activity Guide for some ideas bit.ly/3epREME

  3. Summer reading. Update your to be read book list and spend extra time reading this summer. Find books at storylineonline.net or readacrossamerica.org.

  4. Navigate museums from home. World renowned museums are offering free virtual tours! Learn about history, art and more. Visit bit.ly/3dUn919.

  5. Try new exercises. Practice athletic skills and engage in drills in an outdoor space that will allow your kids to follow social distancing guidelines.
