Thousands leave the family car at home for IUSD's fifth annual Walk to School Day

As promised, here are a few of your photos from this year's Walk to School Day on Thursday, Oct. 27.

                          More than 200 students and a handful of teachers from Greentree Elementary School gathered at Heritage Park (shown above) for a special Walk to School Day kickoff ceremony that included IUSD Board of Education President Sue Kuwabara, district staff and representatives from the City of Irvine. Students and staff from Irvine High School and Venado Middle School also attended the event before heading off to their respective campuses.

Sarah Sharifi, the Springbrook Elementary fifth-grader pictured above, was escorted to school by her older brother, Mansoor Sharifi, who works as a PC support specialist in IUSD's Information Technology department.
