Isabella Tong, a third-grader from Santiago Hills Elementary School, recently learned she placed first in the American Fine Arts Festival’s prestigious piano competition.

We’re told the level of competition was exceptionally difficult this year, with more than 700 student-musicians participating. As a gold medalist, Isabella has now been invited to give her debut performance at Carnegie Hall in New York on June 13. Since it was established in 2003, AFAF has been organizing annual music festivals and performance competitions, giving more than 400 K-12 students each year an opportunity to perform at some of the premier concert halls in New York City, including Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and Merkin Hall at Kaufman Center.
