If Ron Soderwall’s tenure as choir teacher at Woodbridge High School could be likened to a beautiful piece of choral music, this weekend’s retirement party marked the final coda. Hundreds of supporters celebrated Mr. Soderwall’s time at Woodbridge and his entire 40-year teaching career on Saturday during a surprise farewell party in Irvine. As the Orange County Register reports, the guest of honor thought he was about to see a performance of “Lights on Broadway 3” before he was surrounded by a throng of current and former students, including some of his first graduates from the class of 1970.
