The Irvine Unified Council of Parent Teacher Associations (IUCPTA), a 501(c)3 non-profit, includes 43 PTA units supporting IUSD's more than 38,000 students across all 45 IUSD schools. As part of the California State PTA, IUCPTA connects families, schools, and communities, advocating for the education, health, and well-being of all children. PTA activities at school sites include:
- Organize school events: PTAs coordinate family nights, cultural celebrations, and student assemblies to build community and enhance school spirit.
- Fundraise for programs: PTAs raise money for essential resources like technology, classroom supplies, and extracurricular activities, enriching students' learning experiences.
- Support parent involvement: PTAs host workshops and volunteer opportunities, encouraging parents to actively participate in their children’s education and school life.
PTA members join a community of parents, teachers, and advocates dedicated to supporting students, enhancing school programs, and making a positive impact on education. There are no obligations to being a member, but there is plenty of room for growth and opportunities to gain/share valuable skills and work experience. Below are some of the many benefits of joining the PTA.
